Veiled Origin is an industrial software company with a single, narrow purpose: give PI System engineers the instruments the platform vendor left out. One founder. Tools forged from real migration work on live plants — not from a slide deck.

Not a consultant who learned the PI System from a brochure.
I build software for PI System engineers because I am one. I've spent more than a decade on the plant floor in upstream oil & gas — years as a working PI engineer — picking up displays, calcs, and tribal knowledge from the engineers who came before me, and building the migration tooling nobody else would.
Eventually I got tired of rebuilding the same scripts on every project, so I started Veiled Origin to ship them as products. Everything here was built by a working engineer, not a consultant who learned the PI System from a brochure. It solves problems I lived through, on systems I ran.
Origin Companion (browser + Excel) and Origin Migrate (bulk AF migrator) are the first two. Both run locally — no customer data ever leaves your machine. Look past the surface. A display is not a calculation. A calc is not a tag. Every layer hides another. Good tools help you see the whole stack at once.
Root cause, always
Trace problems to their origin, from first principles. Symptom-fixes accumulate into unmaintainable systems. We build tools that expose the real shape of the data.
Failure is not an option
Industrial software is mission-critical. A migration that silently drops 2% of calcs is worse than one that fails loudly. Every anomaly routes to a review sheet — nothing disappears.
